UNEP-IEMP will provide technical support for vulnerability mapping
Goyang (Korea), 6-8 September 2016- Mr Hui Cao, Ph.D candidate, UNEP-IEMP was invited to participate in the Expert Workshop on Economic Impact Assessment of SDS in Goyang, Korea. The event was organized by the Korea Forest Service in partnership UNCCD and UN Environment.
Mr. Hui Cao made two presentations: the first one introduced UNEP-IEMP’s project results on identification of SDS source areas in West Asia; the second one focused on the definitions, frameworks and methodologies of vulnerability assessment.
In consensus with UNCCD secretariat, UNEP-IEMP will provide technical support for vulnerability mapping, including framework design, methodologies/tools development and case study research in pilot countries. This is a recognition of the UNEP-IEMP’s good research delivery on West Asia SDS sources area mapping.
